Accessories for your wrinkles? Yes, they now exist. Noa Zilberman traced the lines on her face to make jewelry that promotes her… true beauty? I’m wondering what you all think of this. I think its an amazing way to bring forth a discussion on true beauty.
Often when we think of ‘true beauty’, we instantly have images of the women from the Dove campaign. We see them posing beautifully, with perfect silver hair and wrinkles. We call that beautiful. Now that Noa has created this collection that highlights flaws, and not the beauty of flaws, people have mixed reviews.
I personally think this is an amazing project because it brings forth a more true discussion. Usually when we flip through the magazine as see a size 8 girl, we see that she is considered “curvy”. Knowing a size 8 is far under the average size for women, a girl who is a size 10 internalizes her new ‘problem’. But what if the things we considered flaws were no longer internalized? What if they were celebrated, and maybe even promoted?
I’m a huge believer that the thing you think is your ‘flaw’ is actually an asset for you. That’s why I’m very interested in seeing the response to this collection. You can check out more HERE.
So… would you accessorize your wrinkles? What do you think of her form of art?
