Creating A Retro Glam Casa For $100

Posted in: Diva On A Budget, Inspiration

Lets jump to it Divas! Other than clothes, nothing represents your style more than tu casa! And the great thing about home accessories is that they will last you forever and you can really find some great things for not too much money. The ‘throw back’ accessories that I have in my house get TONS of attention and it helps my house to feel very cozy and personal. I have a retro telephone, a cow skin rug, an old lantern, and my grandmothers old furniture. I mix those accessories with very sleek electronics so everything just balances out so well and makes a home that’s reflective of my upbringing and also this technological modern look everyone is into. Let me teach you how to hook your house up for under $100. And lets get a group of divas together for this one.

Call up your girlies with great style and unique perspectives. This diva mission is not for the girl who gets what everyone else has. This is for the girls with a little flair and personality. Head down to a thrift store in a really nice neighborhood. Don’t go to any thrift store that has been getting a lot of media attention or great word of mouth, because those places are going to be super overpriced.

The items that we are looking for today are lamps, phones and frames. Buy something ($45) that you actually like because you think is beautiful and not because you think its different.  This should be something you fell in love with at first site. Never do any convincing because when you get home you will look at it as ‘junk’.

Great, you found a good piece. Let that be the centerpiece for the rest of the items that you pick up. Now lets head over to Ikea to purchase a lantern ($13), classic tea kettle ($12), statement pillow ($20), and small plant ($8) to add life into your room.

Be sure to rummage through your parents and grandparents things to see if there is something that is very unique that would fit great in your space. Snatch it up!

Lay everything out in your space and you may have to give something you already had to charity so that your space isn’t too cluttered. Trust me when I say that there will be lots of conversation over your new pieces. Enjoy your new space for under $100!
