Love Will Make You Sparkle

I watched the movie Sparkle over the holidays. I admit the movie was a bit slow. But the fashions were very retro and to die for. The cast was full of very beautiful people. The music was slammin’. And the family and personal relationships explored, covered the gamut of what it is women strive for—or not. The song Love Will struck a chord and made me think. “What will love do for us this coming year, and what will we do for love?”

Love will be whatever you want, hope and plan for it to be if you’re ready. Are you? Are you open to the possibilities, ready to receive? Are you looking for a good and decent guy, or just someone to take care of you? Are you looking for someone cool, calm and collected, or a showboat? Are you looking for a dreamer, a go-getter, someone who will push you and himself forward? Or someone who’s okay with living and bumming off you? Are you ready to abandon all else that’s important to your life for “the one”? Or will you have to find time to fit someone into your schedule?

Are you hopeful, caring, loving or do you have an addictive personality? Are you truthful, hurtful, spiteful or bitter? Do you know how to be a friend or are you better at being a foe? Rich man, poor man, baker man, thief – does his occupation, size and/or color matter?

Love will be sweet, give you butterflies, and make you think the world is yours. Love will be hot and cold, up and down, good and bad. Love will be for you, against you and make you believe again. Love will take you in, put you out, and leave you scratching your head. Love will never end, or end as quickly as it began. Love will make you sparkle, at the right time, with the right person.

That last paragraph is just beautiful – and so true in relation to love.

Lovely post! I’ve been thinking about watching Sparkle on demand and maybe I will watch it, even though it’s a bit slow, over the weekend.

I really loved the film. The music was was amazing. Maybe you’ve given me ideas for flash fiction. I so needed that today.

This is great inspiration. I love the idea of just meeting someone who changes you..some how. Hopefully, for the better. Yet, you need to have your own confidence too. I mean..when it comes to love..its not about saving anyone. Its more of finding the right path that will be the best for you both.
