Secrets To The Perfect Pin Curl

Have you ever wondered when the women of the 20s had the time to look perfect, raise kids, clean, fix dinner, iron their husbands clothes, wear fabulous flapper dresses, and have the perfect pin curls? We wonder about it all the time. And although we may not have wrapped our brains around their multi-tasking abilities, we have unleashed the secret to the perfect pin curl. Pin curls work for all hair types and are a great way to keep heat out of your hair, allowing for a more healthy mane. Learn how to create the perfect pin curl for more dry and wet hair:

Dry Set:

Step 1: With clean hair, section your hair into 1 inch sections while lightly applying setting lotion. (Setting lotion is optional, but they did use this method in the 20s.)

Step 2: Twist the sectioned hair from the ends to the roots.

Step 3: Wind the twisted hair around your finger and then pin it down to your head with a bobby pin. Do this for each section of hair.

Step 4: Go to sleep with the pins in, and take each pin out in the morning. You can comb through your curls to achieve the desired look.

Wet Set:

Step 1: Shampoo and condition your hair.

Step 2: Towel dry

Step 3: Section your hair into 1 inch sections. Lightly apply setting lotion. (Setting lotion is optional.)

Step 4: Twist the section of the hair from the ends to the roots, wind the twisted hair around your finger, and pin it down to your head with a bobby pin. Do this to each section of hair.

Step 5: Wrap your hair with a silk wrap and go to sleep. In the morning you can comb through your curls to achieve the desired look.

    i want to try this, but i’m wondering if this could work with hot rollers? it looks hard to do but worth the pay off!
