Designer collaborations haven’t been as anticipated as they are with H&M. I personally have not waited for ANY collection, as much as I’ve waited for an H&M collection (Stella McCartney). With all the press, excitement, and even the red carpet that used to come out…H&M knew how to make college girls feel like uptown fashionistas. We found images from the best H&M collaborations. We would love for you to tell us your favorites and even let us know if we missed your favorite. Keep us informed:
Marni for H&M was a great collection that seemed to perfectly hit the mark. It was a great mix of Marni aesthetic with H&M appeal.
Stella McCartney for H&M was the one collections I loved. Do you see those skinny jeans with the zipper? I actually cried because I missed these in my size. I called across the country for a pair…and NADA. Trust me, this was way before skinny jeans were mass-produced. And believe it…far before they came with zippers. I ended up getting a pair from Diesel a year later. They weren’t the same.
Versace for H&M was FUN! The collection was playful, colorful, and exciting. The vibrant colors attracted you to the store window, and the dresses were sexy and ‘Versace’. Because everything was so graphic and noticeable, I refused to buy from this collection although I did promote it a lot. Why would I want the same lime green jacket as the girl walking down the street? It was too distinctively cheap-version-Versace. Make sense?
Comme des Garcons for H&M didn’t get that much press. Comme des Garcons is an AMAZING brand with a huge cult following. Not sure if it translated properly to the H&M customer, but it was a decent collection.
Cavalli for H&M did a great job of giving girls a dose of red-carpet-after-party. It was a great collection and found its way on the red carpet worn by Britney Spears and Scarlett Johansson.
Jimmy Choo for H&M was a great idea…but I wasn’t a fan of the shoe in-person. The quality that makes Jimmy Choo Jimmy Choo, was lost in H&M manufacturing. But at least the boxes were cute!
Lanvin for H&M seemed like a hit. It was adored for its collection of cocktail dresses, but their shoes were equally as cute.
