Every now and then you just need a day to yourself. It’s the best treat, and often the most fun days! So lets do it solo my loves.
Treat yourself to breakfast at a local café ($10). Sit back, relax and read the paper. Browse through your favorite articles on CNN, NYT and E! News daily….What? …You know you like scrolling through a little gossip! In need of a little inspiration? Head the to MoMA (or a local art museum in your area). The MoMA maintained my sanity while working and going to school. I just love looking at what a creative mind can create. And no, I don’t think everything should be considered art.
On to the next…. My favorite days without the girls are solo days in front of the camera. If I were you I would set up a mini photoshoot. How do you do that? The easiest way is to put a post on your FB asking for any photogs (referrals from your friends are the best). Another way is to just google someone locally in your area. Most people have set rates but are willing to be flexible. Offer ($50) for a one-outfit shoot outdoors. Never go into someone’s home or studio since you are flying solo. Be sure to only shoot in a well populated area that you know, like a park. If you’re not interested in a photoshoot, or looking for something to do after the shoot, set up an activity. You can go to a local gym and take a class (good stress reliever) ($10); Join in on an art class ($free); Hop on a ferry; See a movie ($15); Get a massage; Get your eyebrows threaded ($15); or your nails done. Do whatever you really love to do or something a little out the box.
Come back in the house for a little “beauty day”. Wash and condition your hair ($free). Do your nails ($free). Do a great facial ($free). Use those cute little crest white strips to whiten your teeth. While you’re having your beauty day cook your favorite meal!
Curl up in front of the TV to watch a favorite movie and eat some food. Hope you feel relaxed, beautiful, and happy!!
